Richard Sutcliffe
Committee Member
My involvement with Chronic Kidney Disease began with marriage and a 23 year journey with my wife through deteriorating kidney function, an unsuccessful attempt at Peritoneal Dialysis, hospital haemodialysis three days a week and, in 2019, a successful and still thriving transplant.
I joined the committee of my local Kidney Patient Association to help in the work of supporting CKD sufferers and their families.
I became a delegate to the Scottish Kidney Federation because I came to realise it helps so much to have a national voice when talking to authority.
I want every CKD patient in Scotland to have a KPA they can turn to, and I would like to see every KPA represented at the SKF to drive campaigns for improved services and to learn from each other.
